At 16, Nando Dietz was making his first tracks with basic step sequencers. By the early 2000s, he was producing drum and bass in Cubase on his first Mac. For the Nuremberg-born creative, music has always been a place to experiment.
He went on to study design for electronic media at the University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg, designing websites and building a sizeable agency with a focus on design and marketing. Film later became central to his work as a director, cinematographer and storyteller at need.film. Connecting sound, images and the way they make people feel runs through everything he does.
With Needless, music has a space of its own. Electronic sounds, house and a fondness for the futures imagined by past generations shape the project. Music to move to, with something to say.
Beyond
the release.
Needless is also a home for working with other artists. Nando develops and produces music while looking at the full picture: from the first idea and songwriting through production and the finished sound to release strategy and music promotion.
Just as important is the artist behind the music. Drawing on his background in design, film production and marketing, he helps artists build their identity, shape their visual world and find their audience. Artwork, music videos, content and communication all grow from the same understanding of who the artist is.
The collaboration can extend beyond individual releases to ongoing artist development, artist marketing and management. Depending on the artist’s needs, Nando can also take on booking and booking management, coordinating performance opportunities as part of a wider plan. The aim is to build the act over time, connecting the music, the artist’s profile and their live presence.
